This ongoing project is based on my research for Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, an oasis located at a religious and cultural crossroads on the Silk Road in China. My work combines symbolic elements from Dunhuang murals and my own thoughts about multi-culture and ancient art. There are 492 caves in Dunhuang so I named this series “Cave 500”.
